Real Life Series
Recreating pop culture's most recognizable rooms entirely with real, shoppable IKEA furniture.

The Fresh Problem
Furniture advertising sells an aspirational room nobody actually lives in: staged, generic, disconnected from how people really decorate. IKEA needed proof its products belonged in real homes, not just catalog spreads.
The Move
The campaign rebuilt some of pop culture's most recognizable rooms — the Byers' Christmas-light wall from Stranger Things, the purple walls of Friends' apartment — using only real, priced IKEA furniture, ready to buy exactly as shown.
Why It Worked
The insight wasn't about taste. It was about recognition: a room the audience already knows by heart sells harder than a room styled from scratch, because the audience does the persuading itself the moment they recognize it.
Work led by Eduardo Marques as Chief Creative Officer or Executive Creative Director over a 31-year career. This is the founder’s body of work, not a ROCKMILK client roster. What carries over is the pattern, and the judgment that found it.
